On Friday night we loaded the car and despite a full days work Adam drove us through the night to Pennsylvania. We decided to drive through the night assuming that we could make it in record time with both girls asleep. We were right! However, Rylie was definitely very uncomfortable and really wanted to be sleeping in her bed. She kept motivating herself by chanting about seeing Pop and Mimi soon. Unfortunately, that wasn't true. They were not going to be there until the following night. We learned our lesson there - don't go to family member's house without them being there! A three old can not come to terms with the disappointment. :(
We had a blast celebrating Gabriel's 2nd birthday. I cannot believe he is 2 already! It was a super fun party complete with loads of balloons, a pinata, lots of candy, an AMAZING cake and a real truck! Videos are so much more fun than my ramblings.
Adam really enjoyed the time he got with the girls. I think we both realized how little time he gets one-on-one with Harper. Usually when he gets home from work we eat dinner and then Harper goes to bed. He either plays with Rylie or just puts her to bed while I put Harper to bed. Harper loves her Daddy and they had so much fun together every day! She is at that stage where every day she seems drastically older. She is learning so much and growing so...chunky! :) I think she started signing all done today!
It was fun to watch Rylie and Gabe play more together. Gabe loves Rylie and hugs her a lot! Some times she reciprocated and sometimes she would give him the cold shoulder. Sounds like a true girl! :) We enjoyed a very nice dinner out with Lauren and Tim while Pop and Mimi took care of 4
We left at 3:30am on Saturday because we had heard there was a lot of snow in Michigan and that there was going to be a big snow storm. The roads ended up being pretty much clear the whole way but there was definitely a lot of snow on the side of the road. We were pleasantly surprised to find that our neighbor had shoveled our driveway while we were gone. If not, we would have had to clear almost 2 feet of frozen snow. We have great neighbors!

Pictures make posts so much better!

Deletehaha...thought the punctuation marks were on purpose, as in you were bleeping out the rest of that terrible word =P
DeleteSoo glad you had the chance to take this trip together and see family. Love the pics! I also love that thing for Harper in the tub -- so cool! I've never seen one of those, looks like it would be a really fun and more free way for a baby to take a bath.
