12/12/12

Rylie's PINK 12/12/12 party was a huge success! I tried to keep it simple and small and that is definitely the way to go.

On Wed (her actual birthday) she woke up and I enthusiastic said, "Happy Birthday" and gave her a big hug. Her response was, "Mom! There are no balloons! And NO cake. It is not my birthday." :) For Adam's birthday last summer Rylie and I put a bunch of balloons in his room for when he woke up. I guess she was referring to that. Well, we had a fun day despite her confusion and the lack of balloons.

We started off by getting donuts and being awed as we watched them being made. Krispie Kreme donuts are so yummy when they are fresh and hot!! Next, to the library for story time and playing with some friends. Then lunch with Daddy at the hospital. She chose pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream as her special dinner. Yummy! I made them for her and then she had a dinner picnic with Dad. (I went out for coffee with a friend...cant even remember the last time I did that!) Rylie got to open one gift that morning, her kitchen from Grandma Cici and Papa. She LOVES it!

Saturday was her party day. We put streamers and a bunch of balloons on the door. We thought she would love it since it seemed to be her expectation but we were wrong. Very wrong! Poor girl flipped out when she walked through the streamers. Bummer way to start her party day but after the initial shock wore off she loved it!

Mimi and Pop came to town and the Schuberts. By special request by the birthday girl we had strawberry cupcakes. (She has a thing for strawberries these days.) Come to find out the recipe I used was the same as Jackson's party cupcakes. They were phenomenal!! Rylie galloped and skipped around the house throughout the whole party. Needless to say she was beyond thrilled that the house had been turned into a pink wonderland and tons of people were there just to love  and celebrate her.

Play Dough station...pink play dough of course.

Dance Party - Wouldn't be a true Rylie party without some dancing!

Rylie hitting her wall and wanting to "just be alone in the closet".

My wonderful, tall, friends! :)

Crashing!
The first gift she opened. I told her she had to wait to put it together for Daddy. She watched her whole movie hugging it! :)

Big girl bike from Mimi and Pop!
Her new owl nightlight from Kristi. Love it! (This was more of a gift for me than Rylie but she doesn't know that :) It lights up green when she is allowed to get out of bed in the morning.)

And then came the throw up! Not mine thank goodness but the twins. Don't worry, no pictures. But boy did they throw up a ton. Rylie got it a couple days after but at least not on her party day!

WHAT A DAY!! WHAT A DAY!!
:)
